The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and creative Marketing Executive to join the Energy Council team in London. The successful candidate will take the lead on creating and executing marketing campaigns for our portfolio of conferences across EMEA, Americas and Asia. 

The Energy Council is the most senior and impactful finance and investment network for the global energy sector. We specialise in brokering relationships, between investors across our network and energy companies from across the value chain, in order to enable access to capital and facilitate deals. The brand occupies a market-leading position in Europe, producing award-winning conferences and large-scale events, for energy executives and the finance and investor community.

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Marketing Executive who is enthusiastic, articulate, and can deliver bespoke marketing campaigns to a senior audience. Main responsibilities will be creating and implementing innovative marketing campaigns, within budget, leveraging email, website, social media, content, and influencers in our network, generating highly qualified leads to enable our sales team to achieve marketing KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering cross-channel marketing campaigns with support of conference producers in line with the event or project objectives.
  • Writing and proofing copy for a range of marketing platforms and materials including websites, social media, emails and brochures.
  • Manage the planning and execution of all email campaigns and creating customer journeys for your events from start to finish.
  • Work with the Research team to segment data, identify gaps, develop new data sources and implement a data build plan.
  • Manage and maintain event websites with regular updates.
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of digital campaigns/channels and marketing emails, making recommendations to improve performance and drive ROI.
  • Producing comprehensive post campaign reports, with recommendations for future improvements.
  • Assisting with the design, production and distribution of all promotional materials relating to the portfolio.
  • Working with key media and association partners to secure valuable external promotions for the conferences. 

Secondary responsibilities:

  • Maintaining social media pages.
  • Taking ownership of key overall brand campaigns, such as monthly newsletter and various web pages.
  • Proactively participating in 121’s, team meetings and project meetings, putting forward observations and new ideas to drive the success of both marketing and wider team activities.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour:

  • Solid understanding of the core event marketing disciplines.
  • Highly proactive and happy to take on a challenge.
  • Multi-tasking with the ability to prioritise relevant tasks.
  • A genuine team player that is collaborative in nature.
  • Analytical and able to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills.
  • Strong copywriting and proofing skills.
  • Creative eye and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using a CRM system such as Pardot or Salesforce is desirable.
  • Familiarity with WordPress or an alternative CMS platform is desirable.
  • Knowledge of best practice across email, social media, paid media, and websites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
