Marketing Data Manager

Montgomery Group

Role Overview

As the Marketing Data Manager, you will take ownership of how data and HubSpot are used across the Marketing team to drive audience growth, campaign effectiveness and commercial performance across our portfolio of B2B events.

This role sits within the Marketing function and is focused on creating the structure and standards within HubSpot needed for Marketing to operate efficiently and at scale. You will ensure the way HubSpot is used, and how data is organised and applied, enables the marketing team to deliver high-impact campaigns.

You will bring clarity to how data is tagged, segmented and governed, ensuring HubSpot actively supports marketing and sales activity.

About You

You are an experienced and confident HubSpot user with a strong understanding of how data supports marketing performance. You enjoy bringing order to complexity and understand that good data is not just accurate, but usable, trusted and easy for teams to work with.

You are comfortable working closely with marketers, sales teams and technical specialists, translating commercial needs into clear data structures and practical solutions. You take a pragmatic approach, balancing best practice with what works in the real world.

You are detail-oriented, structured and solutions-focused, with a strong sense of ownership and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Data Strategy & Governance

  • Own the marketing data approach across all shows, ensuring consistency, clarity and continuous improvement
  • Define and maintain clear standards for tagging, segmentation, naming conventions and data usage within Marketing
  • Act as the central point of accountability for data quality, structure and usability within the Marketing team
  • Create and maintain a scalable “how we work” toolkit for Marketing, including playbooks, documentation, QA checks and clear best practice guidance

Audience & Universe Management

  • Map, build and maintain audience universes by show, clearly defining who is in-market, current reach, gaps and growth opportunity by segment
  • Establish shared active audience and segmentation frameworks across shows, including job function and seniority, industry, buying role, geography and intent signals
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to improve data builds and enrichment, ensuring audience data is delivered earlier in the campaign cycle
  • Own churn management and re-engagement strategy to improve data health year on year
  • Reduce duplication and inconsistency in how audiences are defined and managed across the portfolio

HubSpot Usage

  • Act as the marketing lead for HubSpot usage, ensuring it is used consistently and effectively by Marketing
  • Improve segmentation, tagging and filtering so campaigns can be built quickly, confidently and reliably
  • Resolve recurring issues with lists, filters and workflows
  • Provide practical enablement for Marketing through short training sessions, guidance and ongoing support as needed

Reporting & Insight

  • Link data quality and audience health directly to visitor performance, exhibitor outcomes and sales lead effectiveness
  • Improve forecasting confidence by ensuring data reflects real opportunity, reach and engagement
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insight that teams can use day to day

Role Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with HubSpot including lists and segmentation, forms, ads, workflows, campaigns and reporting, with the confidence to troubleshoot and debug issues independently
  • Demonstrated experience improving data structure, consistency and governance at scale
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience building dashboards and translating data into actionable insight
  • Commercially aware, with a clear understanding of how data impacts marketing performance, sales effectiveness and revenue
  • Confident working cross-functionally and setting standards that others can follow
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and methodical in approach
