Event Sales Manager
Event Sales Manager – Digital Construction Week | Diversified UK & Europe: Brighton Office, UK
Full-time, permanent role – Brighton Office, UK
The Opportunity
Digital Construction Week is one of the UK’s most exciting construction tech event portfolios — a flagship exhibition in London, a regional event in Manchester, an industry awards ceremony, and a year-round digital content hub. With over 10,000 attendees each year and an internationally recognised brand at the intersection of construction, technology and innovation, DCW is a strong commercial platform with real momentum behind it.
We’re looking for an Event Sales Manager to take commercial ownership of the portfolio — driving revenue across exhibition space, sponsorship and digital, leading a small team of two sales executives, and playing a central role in shaping how DCW grows commercially. This is a high-impact role for someone who is equally at home closing deals themselves and helping others do the same.
And unlike most sales roles, you’ll see the results of your work in person. When the doors open and the floor fills with thousands of industry professionals, it’s a feeling our sales team consistently say makes this job unlike anything else.
About Diversified UK & Europe
We’re a Brighton-based events company, part of the global Diversified Communications group, organising 20 in-person trade events and 4 industry awards across a range of sectors. With a team of around 100 people, we’re large enough to offer variety and structure, but small enough that individuals make a real difference — and we’ve won Employer of the Year two years running (2025 and 2026) to prove it.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role sits at the commercial heart of DCW. Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Owning and driving revenue across the DCW portfolio — exhibition stand space, sponsorship packages and digital advertising — through a portfolio approach that identifies cross-sell opportunities and maximises client value across all three events
- Conducting high-level meetings with senior industry contacts and converting them into long-term commercial relationships
- Proactively developing new business through calls, email, LinkedIn and in-person outreach — including attending industry events to represent DCW and generate leads
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of two sales executives — managing their pipeline, supporting their development and driving collective performance
- Hitting and exceeding individual and team revenue targets consistently across the year
- Developing a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and using that insight to sharpen the commercial approach
- Keeping Salesforce up to date with accurate pipeline data and generating reports for senior leadership
- Collaborating with operations, marketing and finance to ensure seamless delivery of client requirements across all three shows
- Attending DCW events on-site, supporting clients and helping to deliver a great experience for exhibitors and sponsors
What We’re Looking For
We’re not after a perfect CV — we’re after the right person. You’ll probably be:
- An experienced sales professional with a strong track record of hitting revenue targets — whether that’s in events, exhibitions, media, publishing, or another commercially-focused environment. Sector experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Confident and credible across multiple channels — phone, email, LinkedIn and in person — you know how to open doors and build relationships that last
- Someone who has either managed or mentored others, or who is clearly ready to — you get results through people as well as personally
- Commercially sharp and strategically minded — you think about the portfolio as a whole, not just the next deal
- Organised, methodical and collaborative — you follow through on commitments and bring others with you
If you’re a strong individual contributor who’s ready to take on more — or already operating at management level and looking for a portfolio with real commercial ambition behind it — we’d like to hear from you.
What’s in It for You
We know you have options, so here’s why people enjoy working here:
- A competitive salary with a team commission structure that means when the show does well, everyone earns well — OTE is genuinely achievable with more for those who exceed target, and we’ll walk you through exactly how it works at first interview
- Genuine commercial ownership — you’ll shape the sales approach for one of the UK’s leading construction tech portfolios, not just execute someone else’s plan
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays — and we close over Christmas and New Year on top of that
- An employer pension contribution of up to 10% — significantly above the statutory minimum and one of the most generous schemes you’ll find at a company of our size
- A discretionary company bonus scheme — when the business does well, everyone shares in that success
- A comprehensive wellbeing package including a cash health plan, EAP, life insurance, critical illness cover, bereavement support, and a contribution towards gym membership or a wellbeing app
- Flexible start and finish times, so you can work around your life
- Hybrid working — a genuine blend of Brighton office and home
- Cycle to Work scheme and Electric Car Scheme
- Ongoing professional development — in-house training, curated programmes and dedicated self-directed learning time
- A paid volunteering day to give back to a cause that matters to you
- Genuinely family-friendly policies, including enhanced maternity and paternity leave
- A colleague referral scheme — because the best people often know the best people
- Regular social events — from book clubs and game nights to our annual Star Awards and Christmas party
- A two-time Employer of the Year winner (EN Awards 2025 & 2026) — an accolade that reflects how we actually treat our people
Where Could This Lead?
We promote from within wherever we can. For the right person, this role is a strong platform for broader commercial leadership — across a wider portfolio, at a more senior level, or both. DCW is a growing brand and we want the person leading its commercial team to grow with it.
How to Apply
Send your CV and a short covering note to careers@divcom.co.uk — just tell us a bit about yourself and why DCW appeals to you. If you’d like an informal conversation before applying, we’re happy to arrange that too.
We want to hear from you regardless of your background — if you’re not sure whether you’re quite right for this role, we’d still encourage you to apply.
Interviews will take place w/c 18th May 2026
