Role Overview

To lead the team responsible for researching and compiling programmes for AMI’s conferences and expos. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team, ensuring the development and execution of high-quality conference programmes that meet the evolving needs of our target audience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure seamless coordination and successful delivery of conferences

Who are you?

  • An experienced Conference Production Leader, preferably with a background in the plastics industry (no industry experience is not a deal breaker)
  • A strong leader with extensive experience in senior roles, confident at handling adversity and able to demonstrate a proven track record in managing teams through periods of change
  • A people person with great interpersonal skills and the ability to gain and sustain credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Someone with excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task, working on more than one project at a time and to tight deadlines.
  • A keen and inquisitive mind able to gather, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify and forecast trends
  • A self-aware individual, open to self-reflection and gathering feedback from others
  • Someone who likes to travel, the role involves regular travel to our events which are across Asia, USA and Europe

Key Responsibilities day to day:

  • Day-to-day leadership and management of the Conference Production Team
  • Outreach to potential speakers through emails and calls for own programmes
  • Collaboration with marketing, sales and operations Team Managers teams to create a cohesive conference department

In return, we’ll give you:

  • A salary of £50,000 - £60,000 p.a.

Our Interview process

Got lots of questions? Great – we are a business built on curiosity, so you’ll be in good company. Before we go forward to a formal interview process, we like to have a chat so we can make sure the role is a good fit all around. The chat will be with one of the current Conference Producers so it is an opportunity to get a feel for the role.

  • The first formal interview will be conducted by one of the senior members of the production team
  • The second round interview will be conducted by the Business Manager Conferences
