Leipzig has the “Best Convention Centre in Europe'

International voting in favour of the CCL The British professional magazine „Business Destinations' has voted the Congress Centre Leipzig (CCL) to be the „Best Convention Centre in Europe'. The vote was held with the ACTE (Association of Corporate Travel Executives), the heads of the travel management departments of the 500 highest turnover companies in the world, and the readers of „Business Destinations'. With more than 100,000 users on all continents the magazine is amongst the leading specialist titles of the business travel sector. In the prize awarding the excellent conditions at the location of the CCL were emphasised, amongst them the infrastructure of the building and the surrounding facilities, the quality of the hotels, the reachability and the image of the city of Leipzig. But above all the CCL stands out through the exemplary cooperation with event organisers and service partners. A great advantage was stated as being „the flexibility of the convention location with its modular concept'. The CCL is a part of the Leipziger Messe and is directly connected with the exhibition halls and an impressive glass hall, which permit events of all sizes and all types. Martin Buhl-Wagner, managing director of the Leipziger Messe, confirms the high customer satisfaction and the growing international demand. The CCL took a great leap forwards by holding the ICCA-Congress 2011. The ICCA is the world association of the congress sector. „This was a stroke of luck for us', says Martin Buhl-Wagner. „We hosted for congress professionals from more than 50 countries, who now know the quality of the location and the professionalism of our team through their own experience. Through this the CCL is now firmly established on the map of internationally known convention centres.' That the vote for the „Best Convention Centre in Europe' has fallen in favour of the CCL is certainly also a result of the ICCA world convention. The prize of the specialist magazine „Business Destinations', the „Travel Award', is bestowed in twelve categories, amongst them e.g. for the „Best Hotel', „Best Airline & Airport' and the „Best Travel Management'. The previous year's winner in the category „Best Congress & Convention Centre, Europe' was Vienna. About the CCL Congress Centre Leipzig is one of the most modern congress and convention centres in Europe. Amongst the special features of the facility is the individual facilitation for events and the extensive service that includes the entire spectrum of event services. Every year roughly 100 congresses and specialist programmes take place at the CCL. The flexible space concept with 23 independent rooms, an exhibition hall that can be integrated and the glass hall as event location make events of nearly any type and size possible - from roughly 100 participants up to 10,000.
