Leadership and Innovation: The Big 5 Construct India 2016 gathers best of national and international construction industry in Mumbai

How long does it take to become a market leader? Three years after its launch, The Big 5 Construct India is the leading B2B trade show for the building and construction community. Part of The Big 5, the largest, most influential and renowned portfolio of construction industry events spanning the Middle East, India and South East Asia, the 2016 edition of the show is set to be bigger and better than ever before. Growing with India's fast moving construction industry, The Big 5 Construct India will host over 300 brands from more than 15 countries across 10,500 sqm of space at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, in Mumbai, from September 28-30.

“Since 2013, The Big 5 Construct India successfully positioned itself as the point of reference of the construction industry, first and foremost because at our events, attendees have been able to meet their objectivesâ€', Ashley Roberts, Event Director of The Big 5 Construct India, said. “Our focus on ‘creating construction communities' is what distinguishes us from competitors. We bring stakeholders under one roof for business, learning and networking opportunities.â€'

Leadership is often bolstered by good cooperation too. Backed by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India, and co-organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the Big 5 Construct India 2016 enjoys the support of leading trade bodies and associations. These include the Builders Association of India (BAI), the Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE), the Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI), the Indian Building Congress, and Liases Foras Real Estate Research and Rating.

Collaboration with the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) and the Project Management Institute (PMI) India will enrich The Big 5 Construct India with an impressive array of educational features like the Project management workshop, and the green building certification systems workshops including LEED v4, USGBC's EDGE and GRIHA. “The Big 5 Construct India 2016 will increase its free educational offer through dozens of workshops, seminars and conferences. A two day Big 5 Conference, a half day seminar by Indian Institute of Architects, one day seminar by American Society of Civil Engineers, 20+ CPD certified technical workshops will bring unprecedented value to all our attendees this yearâ€', Mr. Roberts added.

“The key driver for the Indian economy at the moment is infrastructure. We need to build smart and build fastâ€' said Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Director Corporate Affairs of the Construction Industry Development Council. Mr. Bhardwaj will be presenting a CDP-certified and free-to-attend workshop on “Skill Development: Building the Backbone of Indian Construction Industryâ€' at The Big 5 Construct India on September 28, 2016. According to him, “Onsite training, certification of skills, differential rewards for the skilled and unskilled workers, skill upgradation for growth and personal advancement, and continuous audit of skills, are some of the enablers which will contribute to the development of the construction industry in Indiaâ€'.

Beyond education, The Big 5 Construct India offers first and foremost opportunities to capitalize on India's growing focus towards construction and infrastructure. In 2015, the event recorded a 17% increase in buyers, over 7,400 participants from 44 countries, more than 260 products on display, and 15 CPD certified workshops and technical seminars.

This year, showcasing the best of construction building materials, innovative products, solutions and technologies from international and local manufacturers, the event is expected to host over 300 brands from more than 15 countries across 10,500 sqm of space. “Exhibitors from Turkey, Italy, UK, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Russia, Spain, Greece, Iran, Korea, Canada, China, Korea, Malaysia, Germany and India among many others will bring the latest technologies, solutions and building materials, in a word, the best of the construction industry, to The Big 5 Construct India 2016â€', Mr. Roberts stated.

Innovation is a fundamental element of the event. For the first time ever, a manufacturer of geo-synthetic materials will showcase its products and related applications in the construction sector in India. TechFab India manufactures a wide range of products like nonwoven geotextiles, paving fabrics, high strength woven polyester geotextiles, knitted and polymeric coated polyester geogrids, reinforced nonwoven composites, fiberglass grids, and pre-fabricated vertical drains, with extensive applications in road building. Its geosynthetic products enable owners, consultants and contractors to design and develop reliable, cost-effective and easy to construct solutions for a wide range of landscaping, geotechnical, transportation, hydraulic and other environmental related queries. Tech FabIndia will be exhibiting at The Big 5 Construct India 2016, along with the show's Innovation Partner, H & R Johnson (India). A division of Prism Cement Ltd., with close to 60 years of expertise in the ceramics industry and a pan India distribution and service network, Johnson is a leading name providing integrated lifestyle solutions.

Open from 10am – 6pm On September 28 to 30, 2016, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai, The Big 5 Construct India 2016 will bring under one roof exhibitors from over 15 countries, and key buyers from Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.  The show will also offer free technical seminars to stay up-to-date with the latest industry advancements, and certified workshops to improve industry credentials.

The Big 5 Construct India is jointly organised by dmg events and FICCI and supported by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. The show follows a format common to all The Big 5 events held globally.
