i2i Events Group reports strong performances for leading Q2 exhibitions

  • CWIEME Berlin continues impressive growth and consolidates number one market position
  • i2i uses Bett's 30 year legacy to launch into Brazil and continue fast paced international growth
  • The launch of Bett Brasil drives 34% exhibitor growth over last year's Educar/Educador event

i2i Events Group has seen strong performances from its leading Q2 exhibitions, which includes the acquisitions CWIEME Berlin and Educar/Educador and the inaugural edition of Bett Brasil.

CWIEME Berlin sees second year of growth under i2i ownership and launches new initiative

With the leading collection of coil winding, insulation and electrical suppliers in attendance, this year's CWIEME Berlin was i2i's largest and busiest CWIEME event to date, recording a 15% increase in exhibitors, 16% growth in revenue and strong onsite rebookings.  Taking place from 24 – 26 June at Messe Berlin, it welcomed more than 6,500 engineers, academics and buyers, as some 750 suppliers from over 40 countries showcased their products, services and technologies.  A new initiative for 2014, the CWIEME Leaders' Forum, which was held the night before the event, brought together an invited group of senior executives to focus on the challenges and opportunities across the global manufacturing landscape.  Providing an unparalleled opportunity for peer-to-peer discussion and debate, the Forum featured keynote speaker, Martin McCourt, former CEO of Dyson and currently Chairman of CAP, CliniSys Group and D.O.R.C Dutch Ophthalmic Research and was supported by facilitator, Dr Christoph Schmitz, Partner & Leader of EMEA Manufacturing practice, McKinsey & Co.

i2i hosts Educar/Educador for the first time and successfully launches Bett Brasil

Educar/Educador, Latin America's leading education exhibition and conference, which was acquired by i2i Events Group in 2013, took place from 21 – 24 May at the Sao Paulo Imigrantes Exhibition Centre alongside the inaugural edition of Bett Brasil.  The events saw a 34% increase in exhibitors and revenue growth of 41% (driven by the addition of Bett), and hosted over 15,000 education professionals and over 200 exhibitors. Key participants at the jointly held events included Google, Intel, Blackboard, Pearson and Cisco, as well as leading domestic companies Saraiva, Positivo, Objectivo, Etapa and Pimpao and UK participants were supported by the involvement of UKTI, as i2i's International Business Partner. One of the highlights of the four days was the attendance of Brazilian footballing legend Pelé, who launched a pedagogical programme for ‘Physical Education' classes, in partnership with event sponsor Pearson and REDE.

After 30 years as the leading education technology event in the UK, Bett's arrival in Brazil provided a unique opportunity for the local market.   At Bett Brasil, Latin America's highest level buyers and decision makers were able to experience the most current products on offer from international and domestic exhibitors, get advice from the industry's leading experts and discover the latest developments across technology in education.

Mark Shashoua, CEO i2i Events Group, comments, “By delivering exhibitor and revenue growth on Educar/Educador and launching Bett Brasil, we have shown that we can successfully enter a market through acquisition and reinforce our presence by geo-cloning one of our leading brands. In this way we can quickly internationalise our offering to an industry, benefiting both existing and new customers.  In addition, initiatives such as the Leaders' Forum at CWIEME Berlin underline i2i's commitment to constant innovation at our events, as we work with key players in each industry to drive the debate and address the main issues of the day.â€'
