dmg events to unveil new shows in Dubai to address Middle EastÂ's lucrative $50 billion windows and doors market

dmg events, an international exhibitions company, has announced the launch of a new trade show – Windows, Doors and Façades Event – in Dubai to leverage the strong demand for the niche market driven by the Middle East's burgeoning construction sector, which is expected to grow by around 7 per cent annually for the period 2016-2020. The debut event will be held from September 19 to 21, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. 2014 saw the beginning of a high growth period for the GCC's windows and doors market with the demand touching USD 5 billion, accounting for around 3.5 per cent of the global volume Interestingly, the global windows and doors industry currently worth USD 175 billion is expected to rise by 5.9 per cent annually to reach USD 233 billion by 2019, strengthening the demand from the region's construction sector.

The demand for windows in the GCC is estimated to be USD 4.6 billion in 2015, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.4 per cent between 2010 and 2015. Likewise, the regional market for doors grew at a CAGR of 4.4 per cent from 2010 to 2015 to reach USD $1.15 billion. Furthermore, due to the high preference given to the aesthetic value of building structures in the region, doors and windows are no longer considered as just functional entry or exit points or security devices, fueling the demand further for a variety of artistic and innovative techniques and cotemporary designs.

Nathan Waugh, Portfolio Director – Construction Division, dmg events, said: “Windows, Doors and Façades is a lucrative niche segment in the fast expanding Middle East construction sector. We decided to launch Windows, Doors and Façades Event as an independent event, as it showed a strong demand at The Big 5 Dubai 2014 with 2,000 sq m of exhibition space, and great potential for growth. The need for windows and doors will continue to remain high in the region with the construction of new buildings and repair and renovation of existing ones. Moreover, with the growing emphasis on environmental and energy ratings, safety requirements, and climatic considerations, the windows and doors market has created an important niche in the GCC construction market. We are confident that Windows, Doors and Façades Event 2016 will fill a gap in the market by catering to the regional demand for more modern and innovative concepts in the segment.â€'

“The construction of massive residential, commercial, leisure, hospitality and infrastructure projects in the GCC will bolster the windows and doors segment, driving the demand for aesthetic, innovative and sustainable products. Within the region, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia accounts for just over half and the UAE represents a quarter of the demand, spread across new buildings, repairs and retrofits. The time is right to launch a dedicated event in the form of Windows, Doors and Façades Event 2016 to tap the remarkable potential of this segment by throwing the spotlight on all product sectors within the industry, including accessories, machinery and components,â€' Waugh concluded

Windows, Doors and Façades Event 2016 targets professionals from the building and construction sector, including architects and interior designers; builders and developers; dealers and distributors; door, façade and window contractors; glass and metal contractors; door, gate and window manufacturers; fabricators; facility managers; façade consultants; investors; and wholesalers.

dmg events currently organizes 14 annual events across the MENA region, which include The Big 5 in Dubai, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, The Hotel Show Dubai, The Leisure Show, the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), the International Design Exhibition (INDEX), Middle East Concrete, and PMV Live, among others.
