Chris Skeith OBE, chief executive of AEO said: “We are over the moon to see the return of the AEO People’s Awards! This is an excellent opportunity for managers to recognise their star players. We also welcome nominations from teammates and peers.

One of the most important things to emphasize, is the robustness of our judging process which follows the same esteemed standards of the AEO Excellence Awards.  Based on feedback, the judging process has been further enhanced and entrants will be anonymised before passing to the judges. A panel of industry experts, including members of the AEO Board, Development Board, working group chairs, and senior event stakeholders, will independently evaluate the nominations. Being shortlisted for these awards is an achievement, and winning one is a testament to an individual's exceptional contribution.”

Lisa Tyson, deputy managing director of Aztec said: "At the heart of Aztec is an incredible team of event professionals, all of whom are pivotal to our continued success. This is why the People's Awards resonates so much with us, it provides a genuine platform from which we can celebrate these individual achievements and why we remain incredibly proud to be headline sponsors once again."

Laura Tythcott, sales and marketing director at Whitespace Group said: “For the second year running, Whitespace Group is thrilled to support the AEO Forums and People’s Awards.

As we move into 2024, one core principle remains at the forefront of our vision: the power of community. We firmly believe that we can achieve more working together, than by acting alone.

Whitespace Group recognises that true progress is achieved through collaboration, and we are committed to fostering an environment where partnerships flourish and innovation thrives.

The AEO supports our focus with their continued investment in community and creative development for organisers in the UK.”

The event welcomes nominations from across the organiser, venue, and supplier communities. Additionally, nominating peers and colleagues is free for members of AEO, AEV (Association of Event Venues), and ESSA (Event Supplier and Services Association), making it accessible to professionals throughout the industry.
