The Opportunity:

  • Reporting Manager:  Event Director, Design Shanghai and Design China Beijing
  • Career progression: Marketing Director, Group Marketing Director, Marketing VP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive multiple events or event clusters and deal with intricate team structures and relationships and co-operate with diverse team personalities.
  • Actively develop event value propositions according to the customer insights and critical shifts and gaps in the market.
  • Plan and execute integrated international digital and marketing campaign for the event/s through an in-depth understanding of integrated marketing and innovation to ensure the event is placed in a leading position in the industry.
  • Manage full marketing budget and report regularly to VP/Event Director.
  • Focus on customer insight to understand the core drives and needs of exhibitors, visitors and partners.
  • Appoint, train and coach staff with a lead-from-the front attitude; to aim higher and do more
  • Understand staff growth areas and areas to improve.
  • Promote excellent team work and collaboration.
  • Promote good practices and ideas across shows to improve overall marketing standards in the company.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Solid experience of event/exhibition marketing, with proven track record in driving business performance
  • Previous experience in a management role
  • An interest or eye for design, art or architecture would be preferable
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management
  • Able to establish effective working relationship with different stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to recruit, retain, motivate and develop a team
  • Able to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
  • Self-motivated and self-reliant with an ability to thrive under pressure
  • The ability to multitask, adapting to an extremely fast-paced environment
