The Role

World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo is the world’s leading event for airlines, railways and cruise lines to source the latest innovations, technologies and products for the travel catering, onboard retail and passenger comfort sector. The exhibition takes place alongside the Passenger Experience Conference and Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg each year in April.

WTCE is currently looking for a talented Sales Executive with proven strong sales performance to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing revenue with existing clients and with support, prospect for new business. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, passionate and dedicated team player. This position will involve close partnership with the international sales team as well as the wider show team.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively promote and sell exhibition space and value-added sponsorship opportunities to new and existing clients

• Conduct telephone sales campaigns to rebooking/lapsed customers and new prospects

• Source and build a database of new sales prospects via competitive exhibition attendance, the international trade press and dedicated sales trips

• Keep abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales

• Pipeline management and following up effectively on new prospects and sales leads

• Develop a keen understanding of the passenger experience industry and supply chain

• Develop and maintain long term relationships with all customers, understanding their business needs

• Attend industry events and shows (many overseas) for sales prospecting / account management / upsell opportunities

• Contribute to show’s strategy and the long term plan of their sales area

• Floor plan management and allocation of stand space in conjunction with the Sales manager and International Sales Managers

• Ensure that all sales administration is completed to a high standard including client records on Salesforce (CRM system) are kept up-to-date

• Achieve individual and group sales and revenue targets

• Work with the WTCE team to identify new opportunities for the event

• Regular Sales reporting, tracking and analysis

Skills and Experience

This position requires a highly motivated person, willing to "go the extra mile" to achieve targets and who can demonstrate:

• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Strict and emphatic observance of cultural etiquette in a commercial environment

• Good time management

• Excellent written skills

• Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills

• Creativity in developing sales solutions for clients’ needs

• Fluency in one or more other languages would be especially beneficial.
