Conference Producer
Reporting to the Event Director, the Conference Producer is responsible for delivering a compelling conference and features programme to entice new and previously attended visitors to the events across the portfolio (Automechanika Birmingham and the UK Garage and Bodyshop event), ensuring the programmes are innovative, leverage relationships within the sector(s) and are industry-leading.
We are seeking an experienced Conference Producer to co-lead the conference strategy with the Event Director and Marketing Director, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will curate engaging, industry-relevant programmes for high-calibre events, managing relationships with key partners, sponsors, and speakers. Additionally, you will ensure all conference is aligned with event goals, optimise marketing and PR efforts for maximum visibility, and work with sales teams to identify commercial opportunities tied to educational features.
The ideal candidate has proven expertise in conference production for large-scale events, along with strong organisational and leadership skills. You will confidently manage programme development, stakeholder relationships, and external resources, ensuring conference delivery stays on budget and on time.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy
- In collaboration with the Event Director set and implement the overall conference strategy
- Align key event propositions, messaging, and conference delivery, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
Partnerships and Planning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, associations, headline partners, and key accounts
- Identify and develop engaging conference propositions that enhance visitor engagement addressing workshop and seminar programme; format and size, conference agenda, educational features, key partnerships
- Conduct in-depth research on market trends, challenges and solutions via research calls and face-to-face meetings with existing and new contacts.
Promotion
- Writing and delivering event briefs for the marketing and sales teams
- Oversee the creation and distribution of speaker assets.
- Write marketing copy where required for email, social, print, and video channels
- Monitor and track speaker social media activity.
- Actively support the uploading of press releases to relevant platforms, such as Auto:Resource
- Create and manage a LinkedIn Newsletter (desirable).
Delivery
- Oversee the timely delivery of the event programme
- Manage all aspects of speaker coordination, including recruitment, logistics, and on-site support
- Take ownership of on-site event management of the conferences conference
Analysis
- Conduct full analysis post show of the conference programme, taking note and creating an action plan of any gaps in the programme or areas for improvement.
- Actively involved in creating speaker insights questions on the post show survey
