AEO - Association of event organisers

Best Practice & Professional Standards

AEO

AEO provides members with free of charge guidance on issues such as health and safety compliance, security, sustainability and other technical and commercial issues. Current members can log onto the Member Zone for further information.

In addition, the AEO and Cross Association Working Groups provide an opportunity for AEO members to shape the agenda, champion causes and find solutions to issues affecting the event organiser community. One initiative which was conceived by the AEO Ops Working Group is Stop the Drop which promotes safe working at height.

Finally, AEO operates a Code of Conduct which all members are duty bound to abide by. Please see below for further details.

There is a dedicated website for the Stop the Drop initiative where all of the resources can be downloaded for use in promoting safe working at height practices during build up and breakdown. These resources are available for the entire industry to use and are already being adopted by organisers, suppliers and venues so please feel free to use them at your events. If you are an AEO member and would like to pledge your support please contact the team and let us know.

The Stop the Drop initiative was conceived via the Ops Working Group in response to concerns from HSE regarding falls from height. The resources include:

  • Posters
  • Email signatures
  • Guides
  • Training videos
