Project Background: Who sets these standards?

The standards have been set by a committee, drawn from participating AEV member venues, and chaired by an independent industry professional.  The committee includes both health and safety professionals and event managers, in order to facilitate a balanced approach to legal compliance and practical application.  As more member venues become involved, it is hoped that they will consult with and, in some cases, send representation to the committee. 

 

Furthermore, AEV, ESSA and the committee members were adamant that this initiative not be launched before a period of wider consultation (with operations professionals within the exhibitions industry) had ensued.  This process was managed by the AEV and ESSA executives, and successfully sought feedback from AEO, AEV and ESSA members, to ensure that the overall approach will be broadly acceptable to all key stakeholders.
