Attendance Verification Scheme (AVS)
Introduction
The purpose of AVS is to deliver a highly cost effective attendance verification scheme that provides exhibitors with the confidence that members' published attendance figure is accurate and true.
A condition of AEO membership is that members must undertake independent attendance verification on all their exhibitions that exceed 2,000sqm of net stand space sold and for which they retain majority ownership.
AVS has been developed in response to member requests for a more affordable system to measure, corroborate and report on attendance to their exhibitions held in the UK. You are not required to use AVS; you may, if you wish, continue to use existing AEO approved audit companies.
The verification of attendance is established using a system-based grid comprising of registration and box office companies’ visitor information.
Organisers must submit ‘attendance figure’ for verification and random spot checks of attendance figures will be undertaken each year.
This service is administered by a third party at a minimum cost of £200 per show.
If you have any questions relating to the scheme’s methodology and structure please email Harry Bailey, AVS administrator, at harry@avscheme.com.
