Platform number one – Virgin Trains to go VIP at Event Production Show
Virgin Trains expands exclusive live event offering with Sir Alex’s blessing
The Event Production Show (2 – 3 February 2011 at London Olympia) has confirmed that Virgin Trains will launch a new range of bespoke chartered services for live events and corporate meetings, with the backing of legendary football manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Virgin Trains will use the Event Production Show - Europe’s pre-eminent live event showcase - to exhibit the expansion of its VIP Travel services in the UK to festivals, concerts and sporting fixtures. The spiralling success of the project has seen Virgin’s low-carbon Pendolinos used by corporates, celebrities and sports teams.
The decision to offer bookers an enlarged range of branding, themes, in-carriage entertainment and fine dining options was taken in light of continuously increasing demand, glowing feedback and the ultimate endorsement from Manchester United supremo Sir Alex.
18-time English champions United entrust Virgin Trains’ VIP Travel service with their pre-match travel when playing away matches against London-based teams, using the VIP travel service. Sir Alex praised the VIP Travel service for its efficiency and the outstanding service of its dedicated in-carriage team.
Virgin Trains will be targeting event organisers and promoters, corporate meeting planners and brand managers at the Event Production Show, highlighting its new range of bespoke options, among a raft of other additions to the VIP Travel range.
Adrienne Nankivell, Virgin Trains spokesperson said: “The Event Production Show is the ideal opportunity to tell the world about our new range of VIP Travel services for the live event sector. We are proud of the loyal client base VIP Travel has built up, and feel that the time is right to develop the offering.”
Sir Alex Ferguson continues: “Every time we move down to London, I must say it is a fantastic service. It is part of our team now - the preparation when going to London is so vital to us. The time-keeping and special treatment we get is first class.”
Sarah Brownlee, Event Production Show spokesperson said: “We are delighted to welcome Virgin Trains to the Event Production Show and look forward to helping them communicate impactfully with the live events sector. Their VIP Travel service is a truly dynamic product which will be of particular interest to professionals arranging travel to and from live events.”
