UBM divisional appointments
UBM is pleased to announce the following appointments:
- Jane Risby-Rose has been promoted to take on the new role of Chief Advisory Officer, UBM Events Worldwide and Chairman of UBM’s Global Events Momentum (GEM) forum, with responsibility for providing central focus and innovation to UBM’s live media products, and for reviewing and advising on portfolio management and opportunities to grow UBM’s global event footprint. Jane will continue to report to David Levin and be based at Ludgate House.
- The UBM Live and UBM International Media businesses will be merged under the leadership of Simon Foster, CEO of UBM International Media bringing together UBM’s Europe-based live media businesses under the name UBM Live. The newly merged business will run 77 live face to face exhibitions and/or conferences in 13 countries and 22 other global products, and generate revenues of approximately £100m.
- In addition, the Interiors portfolio of UBM Live will be transferred into UBM Built Environment, led by CEO Adrian Barrick. The transfer will help UBM exploit the natural synergies between the market-leading events in Interiors and the publishing and live/virtual events within Built Environment.David Levin said:
“Jane’s appointment to the newly created role of Chief Advisory Officer, UBM Events Worldwide signals UBM’s commitment to developing our events businesses globally through organic development and acquisition. The inaugural meeting of our Global Events Momentum (GEM) forum, chaired by Jane, brought together the leaders of our events businesses to share expertise and best practices, and we are committed to developing this forum over the coming year. Jane’s role, together with Philip Chapnick’s appointment as UBM’s Group Chief Representative in China, are important next steps for UBM in maximising the potential of our events businesses”.
Jane Risby-Rose said:
“I am delighted to take on the new challenge of working across UBM’s global events portfolio. UBM events already enjoy world leader status, however there is much more we can do to drive the portfolio forward by stimulating creative innovation, unifying and enriching a vibrant internal events community and by acquiring new live media businesses in fast-growing geographies to ensure UBM’s reputation and expertise are strengthened and accelerated still further”.
Simon Foster said:
“The merger of UBM Live and UBM International Media will provide opportunities for growth to meet our strategic goals. The creation of a unified UBM Live will retain the particular strengths that both divisions have built up to form an even stronger global team and business moving forward.”
