Ocean Media Grows European Portfolio

Ocean Media Group reports great growth across its portfolio of Mainland Europe events. The company currently organises and launches exhibitions within specialist fashion sectors, social housing and sourcing on the Continent and all, without exception, have experienced an increase in both visitor and exhibitor numbers during the last 12 months.

Ocean Media first established operations in Mainland Europe in 2007 with the acquisition of bridal shows in the Netherlands and Germany.  The company has since focused on growing its portfolio of overseas events by establishing regional offices in the Ede, Netherlands in 2009 and Dusseldorf, Germany in 2010.  The Company has since launched 5 major events within the last eighteen months in Essen, Berlin and Warsaw.

One of which was 5 Elements at the Messe Berlin.  This highly specialised trade show for the lingerie, beachwear; spa and wellbeing and accessories markets was launched within 4 months and took place in July 2009.  The event attracted companies such as La Perla, Elle McPherson, Speedo and Triumph, key buyers, decision-makers and trend watchers from all over Europe. The event was well covered by national and international press, reaching an audience of 1.8 million across TV and PR coverage in 24 countries.

Olaf Van Den Brink, European Portfolio Director for Ocean Media says, “All our events are growing rapidly.  The uncertain economic climate has created numerous opportunities for us to launch new exhibitions and find entrepreneurial people with the skills and experience needed to capitalise on market needs.  We have been particularly pleased with the market’s response to our latest international launch event, 5 Elements-Berlin.”

James Brooks-Ward, Managing Director of Ocean Media Group comments, “Our operations in Mainland Europe are gathering pace.  We have excellent teams of experienced people in place and the markets we have turned our attention to have been receptive to our approach and to the way we run our exhibitions.”
