Video cards to make waves at Event Production Show
Technology dominates debut exhibitors at live events showcase
The impact of video at live events has been underlined by the latest wave of first exhibitors at this year’s Event Production Show.
Europe’s pre-eminent live events showcase, Wednesday 1st February to Thursday 2nd February at London Olympia, has attracted a notable number of companies taking advantage of the demand for video technology.
Debut exhibitor Enigma has announced it will be launching Videoh to the event industry. The revolutionary product uses the latest ultra thin LCD screen technology with traditional marketing media, including brochures, direct mail pieces and invites. Videoh has proved a sensation over the past 12 months quickly catching the imagination of some large global businesses including Xerox, Verisign, Trend Micro and Hitachi Data Systems and most recently the QE2.
A specialist provider of American style drive in movies and mobile cinema has also decided to target the UK event market at the start of a year headlined by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Diamond Jubilee. Urban Entertainment has tracked the demand for big screens in parks and other public areas during landmark occasions, and has delivered its own twist – inflatable big screens.
Michael Hayes, Managing Director at Urban Entertainment said: “I established the company out of a personal love of the movies and what I saw as a gap in the market for drive-in movie events and open-air cinema. However, the ease of operation that comes with using this system meant that we quickly started to get enquiries from other events.”
Other new kids on the block at the first major trade show of 2012 include MIR Services, which will be talking visitors through its portfolio of event production and technology services from the Los Angeles Convention Centre to V Festival. It will be joined by video technology specialist 3xScreen Media, which offers HD video call streaming designed to accommodate broadcasts from simultaneous sporting, entertainment and music events. Also catering for the anticipated spike in demand for video at live events will be Bradford’s Big TV, which will be showcasing its mobile screens and outside broadcast services.
Sarah Brownlee, Event Manager at the Event Production Show said: “Without a doubt, video technology has been the standout strand of our exhibitor base in the run up to the 2012 show, especially among the debut exhibitors. It is clear that video is a popular way to bring events to life this year and ensure audience engagement over every square metre on site.”
The Event Production Show will run alongside the inaugural UK Venue Show, giving attendees the chance to discover the Best of British venues.
