Event suppliers becoming exhibitionists for 2012

The Event Production Show, held from 1st to 2nd February 2012 at London Olympia, has announced the highest number of new exhibitors in its 10-year history.

A total of 41 companies are set to exhibit for the first time at the exhibition, a record for the two-months-to-go mark.

New exhibitors include ticket agents, experiential marketers, temporary structure providers, crew and security suppliers and broadcast support units.  The full spectrum of the event industry represented by the debutants is indicative of the uplift to business ahead of 2012, a year which will see both the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Diamond Jubilee.

As the competition for 2012 business increases, many companies are using the Event Production Show to showcase and launch their latest products.  Event media and AV specialists LCI will give a platform to their video mapping game with interactive screen, doll house video mapping and interactive sphere.

Also debuting, Cable Guard Europe – which has worked with Wembley, the O2 Arena and several U2 global tours - will launch a 3-slot modular cable guard with unprecedented strength and flexibility due to its channel size, protecting the power supply at live events from trucks and heavy equipment.

With health and safety paramount at all of 2012’s global spectaculars, St John’s Ambulance have taken the opportunity to promote their valuable service. Recruitment agency Pitman’s People, a specialist for the events industry, will take advantage of the rising demand for man power as companies expand their workforces. The government recently doubled the budget for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to £80 million, with the number of security staff on duty increased from 10,000 to 24,000.

Other new exhibitors include Manchester based ticket agent Ticket Line, outdoor cinema suppliers Urban Entertainment, Leicester event organiser Bowler Hat Events, rigging specialist Ace Crew and Feedback Event Cuisine, which provides private dining to the stars at live events from Donald Trump to Naomi Campbell.

Sarah Brownlee, Event Manager of the Event Production Show said: “The breadth of new exhibitors we will welcome this year is a testament to the ‘2012 effect’.  Now is the time for companies to shout about what they can offer organisers, and we are pleased to offer an effective platform for face to face time with potential customers, with our confirmed attendees already 70% up year-on-year since registration opened.”

The Event Production Show will run alongside the inaugural UK Venue Show, giving attendees the chance to discover the Best of British venues
