Event Production Show buoyant as registration opens for 2012
Sales and sponsorship up year-on-year as Ocean Media portfolio strengthened
Visitor registration opens tomorrow (Friday 28th October) for the 2012 Event Production Show and inaugural UK Venue Show, with show organisers announcing increases in both sales and sponsorship.
Held at London Olympia from Wednesday 1st - Thursday 2nd February, and running alongside the UK Venue Show, the Event Production Show is Europe’s pre-eminent showcase for the live events industry. New figures confirm an industry boom as the UK’s ‘Decade of Events’ comes into bloom with the Diamond Jubilee, 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2015 Rugby World Cup.
The Ocean Media event has confirmed that exhibitor sales are up by 10% year-on-year from October 2010, while sponsorship revenue from the event has seen a 75% rise this year.
The encouraging results give further impetus to the Ocean Media portfolio, which also stages sister exhibitions including the UK Venue Show, the Boat & Caravan Show, Chartered Institute of Housing Conference and Exhibition and the National Wedding Show. The UK Venue Show will celebrate the ‘Best of British’ venues in the West Hall at Olympia, neighbouring the Event Production Show in the Grand Hall.
With registration now open for the 2012 show, it is anticipated that 2011’s total visitor base of 3610 will be exceeded, with production teams, event organisers, brands, corporate booker sand experiential marketers expected to make up the core attendance.
Table sales are already over halfway to capacity for the inaugural Event Production Awards, which will take centre stage on the evening of Day 1 (Wednesday 1st February) as the industry’s leading lights recognise the achievements of their peers.
Emergent trends and new technologies will be featured on the show floor and debated in the company of industry figureheads at the Access Sessions, an exclusive thought leadership programme featuring the likes of Take That production director Chris Vaughan and Live Nation’s John Probyn, who will chair the popular Question Time panel.
Sarah Brownlee, Show Organiser said: “These figures indicate that the surge in buying power we all envisaged ahead of 2012 has finally come to fruition. We are delighted to open registration for the 2012 Show, which takes on a special significance as Britain’s events industry moves closer to its time under the global spotlight.”
