AEO appoints Karim Halwagi as CEO

Association of Event Organisers (AEO) announce the appointment of Karim Halwagi as Chief Executive Officer.

Karim possesses extensive experience in the live events industry, and has previously held senior positions at ITE and Expomedia Group plc, where he launched and managed exhibitions in the UK as well as in international territories.

Current AEO CEO Austen Hawkins commented on Karim’s appointment: “I am absolutely delighted that AEO has attracted such a high calibre operator. Karim brings a huge amount of knowledge, experience and talent and I look forward to Karim driving AEO’s development forward to greater success.”

Karim Halwagi said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining the AEO and am looking forward to working with our existing and new members, to further enhance and develop the promotion of our industry, and its continued growth.”

Karim officially joins AEO on 30 August 2011.
