Networking and events
AEO’s member-only events, which include the annual AEO Conference, AEO Excellence Awards and Marketing Forum, provide opportunities for members to meet, share information and address the major issues facing the industry.
Information
Members are kept up to date with all of AEO’s activities and initiatives through a regular member communication programme. Access to information and exclusively commissioned research is a key benefit of membership, and our website is a comprehensive resource – much of which is restricted to members only. AEO’s executive team is always on hand to provide information and advice.
Best Practice and Professional Standards
AEO provides members with free of charge guidance on issues such as health and safety compliance, security, sustainability and other technical and commercial issues.
AEO has developed training courses covering sales, marketing, operations and personal development to meet the specific needs of the exhibition and events industry. Training is available in-house or through open courses at a discount to members.
The AEO Code of Conduct exists to ensure high standards of business behaviour, and to promote best practice amongst members.

Member Services
A range of services such as an annual salary survey, contract templates for exhibitors and venues, and discounts on performing rights licences are available free of charge to members. In addition, AEO’s website has an online recruitment service which enables members to publicise vacancies free of charge.
Influence
AEO is run by its members for its members through an elected council of representatives, specialist working groups and a full time executive. Participation in AEO’s committee structure enables members to influence how the association addresses the issues facing the industry and lobbies government or other bodies.
Promotion
AEO, ESSA and AEV jointly founded the Events Industry Alliance (EIA) in 2006, which serves as the promotional arm for the wider events industry, seeking to increase the significance of events and exhibitions within the marketing mix through representation to clients, agencies, government, academia and the press.
Only member companies are entitled to use the AEO logo. The logo is your kitemark of excellence, recognised both within and outside the industry.
